Africa Agribusiness Directory
AgThrive launched the Africa Agribusiness Directory in 2022 to support the growth of MSME livestock businesses across SSA. The purpose of the Directory is to drive investment and open-up partnership opportunities for small and medium scale agriculture businesses across the African continent. The directory will increase the visibility of these agriculture businesses to the national and global community, opening new opportunities for them to achieve their goals.
The business directory combined with our first-hand knowledge of the companies will allow investors to find high potential companies and invest in their growth and innovation. Investors and other partners can find partners on the directory and also commission bespoke reports about specific sectors or individual businesses. Ultimately, this will result in more finance and technical support for SME livestock businesses in SSA.
The Africa Agribusiness Directory was developing with funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Impact of the Covid Pandemic on Livestock Businesses in Africa
COVID-19 disrupted economies, halting business activity and changing consumer behavior. Understanding the impact of the pandemic on livestock agribusinesses in Africa is an essential step to helping them recover. In 2020, ad part of our project to develop the Africa Agribusiness Directory, we undertook a survey of these businesses across the continent to gather data on their current situation and future outlook in the time of the pandemic.
